Slow, graceful flight gives you more reaction time and is more forgiving than a 40 powered trainer, which is particularly important if you don't have an instructor. Also silent flight is more friendly to your neighbors and the environment.

Being an ARF does away with the biggest objection to sailplanes which is the tedious building of a 2 meter wing! All the building and covering is done for you so you can experience the benefits of soaring without the hard work. The Windstar available in two versions: unpowered and electric powered. With the unpowered version, you use a catapult system called a "hi-start" or a winch to gain altitude and then glide down for a gentle landing. The electric powered version uses a motor and efficient folding prop to take the plane to soaring altitude.
